يعرّف مرض البهاق بأنه نوع من الأمراض التي تقوم بإصابة الجلد (http://alhawabeauty.com/skin/)وإحداث تغييرات في لونه أو القيام بإزالة اللون الطبيعي لـ الجلد (http://alhawabeauty.com/skin/)، وإظهار بقع لونية تختلف عن اللون الأصلي لـ الجلد (http://alhawabeauty.com/skin/).
هناك عدة أنواع وأشكال لمرض البهاق ، يظهر بها وتكون دالة على بدء الإصابة به ، منها :
البهاق الطرفي : وهو عبارة عن شكل من أشكال مرض البهاق وعلامات الإصابة به تكون من خلال ظهور علامات تغير لون الجلد (http://alhawabeauty.com/skin/) للمنطقة المصابة ، والبهاق يصيب الشفاه والأطراف ويصيب الأعضاء التناسلية .
1-البهاق الجزئي :
البهاق القطعي : وهذا النوع من مرض البهاق يقوم بإصابة منطقة معينة من الجسم و و يحدث أكثر شيوعا عند الأطفال و أكثر من 50%من المرضى الذن يعناون من البهاق القطعي يعانون من الشعر الأبيض .

البهاق ذو الشامة الهالية : وهذا النوع من مرض البهاق يقوم بإصابة الشامة وذلك بعمل هالة بيضاء حولها ، وهذا دليل على أن مرض البهاق أصاب الشخص صاحب الهالة وأن المرض بدأ بالانتشار .
2-البهاق الشامل :
البهاق المنتشر : وهذا النوع من مرض البهاق يصيب كافة أعضاء جسم المصاب ويغير لون الجلد الطبيعي والأساسي للجسم .
